About me.

I am Martin, a 34 years old (game-) developer enthusiast.
My professional career started more than a decade ago as a junior software developer in a startup. Since then I worked for several companies operating in different industries. Over the years, I grew, earned my master's degree in computer science and took on more and more responsibility at the companies I worked for.
Today, I work full-time as a development architect at one of the largest software companies in the world, where I build and evaluate cloud architectures.
I started making software and especially games since I am a teenager. It's my biggest passion to learn everything about (game-) development and to test my skills in Game Jams like the Ludum Dare, in my own projects or in doing challenging projects as a freelancer.
Purpose
The purpose for this blog is to write down my (game-) developer journey and to share my lessons learned and findings with you. I really like to teach easy to complex development topics. Therefore I hope you can find valuable information that will help you on your journey as a developer. I also like to develop programmes or services that help you as a developer or are simply useful for a use case in daily life.
Notion
I am excited about the productivity tool Notion. As a developer, I need to be as organised as possible and it is also very helpful in my daily life. I learn new things, create new templates and am happy to share my knowledge and templates with you. I am also interested in getting involved in the (developer) community to help users when needed.
Devlogs
With devlogs I keep you updated on my projects i am currently working on. A devlog is not only about a new feature that has been developed. It is more about the decisions I have made and my lessons learned. I explain concepts of (game-) design and fundamental to complex technical aspects of development. If you are interested in a project I am happy to listen to your feedback and let it influence the project.
Thoughts about Trends in the IT Industry
Sometimes there are trends or innovations that really struck me. I want to write about them, to share my thoughts and to discuss these trends with you.
